Hope Academy

Hope Academy is a private, co-educational day school located in the Grand Harbour Shoppes, Red Bay, Grand Cayman. Established in 2009, it offers an American-based curriculum from Kindergarten through Grade 12, tailored for students who benefit from a smaller, supportive learning environment. The school is non-denominational and is particularly noted for its support of students with diverse learning needs, including ADHD, anxiety, and high-functioning autism spectrum disorders. It also provides full-time online schooling for older students.

Hope Academy follows the Florida-aligned U.S. curriculum supported by a small-class environment (average class size 12–15). Students take part in online courses and work-experience programmes in middle and high school, preparing them for college and the workforce. The curriculum is enriched with multi-sensory, individualised teaching methods. Admission typically involves an academic screening to ensure the learning support match.

Housed within Grand Harbour Shoppes, the school features classrooms and small-group learning areas designed for personalised education. After-school options include academic support, sports clubs like basketball, sailing, paddleboarding, gardening, robotics and more. Hope Academy also functions as a licensed health-care facility, offering speech and language therapy, ABA, behavioural support and neuro-psychological evaluations.

Hope Academy enrols around 112 students (ages 5–18) across Kindergarten–Grade 12, with a staff of 21 teachers and 28 support personnel, resulting in a very low student–teacher ratio (approximately 5:1). School hours follow the standard weekday schedule. The Office of Education Standards rated the school as “Good” in October 2022. Annual tuition for 2024–25 is CI$15,900 (Tier 1), plus CI$150 application fee and CI$500 book fee, with sibling discounts and additional costs for meals, therapy and tutoring.

This school is well-suited to families seeking a small-scale, American-style education with strong academic, emotional and behavioural support. It particularly benefits students with additional learning or mental health needs who thrive in individualised and therapeutic learning settings.
