Footsteps School
Footsteps School is a non-denominational, co‑educational day school in George Town, Grand Cayman, offering education from Reception (age 4) through Year 8. Established in 2014 by founders Emma Kendall and Bryony Platt, it is the first and only accredited beach school in the Cayman Islands, following the UK National Curriculum with a strong emphasis on outdoor learning, small class sizes, and a nurturing, inclusive environment .
Footsteps delivers the English National Curriculum (2014), enriched with a strong Cayman Islands focus. Each term, students experience “nature learning”, spending two days per month learning outdoors at beaches, parks or farms, where curriculum topics tie into real-world exploration . The Office of Education Standards rated the curriculum “Excellent” in October 2022 and the school maintained an overall Good rating in its most recent inspection . Classes are kept small (typically 15 pupils) to support tailored learning paths and inclusion .
Footsteps operates from a newly renovated campus on Eastern Avenue, featuring well-appointed classrooms, a learning garden, planting beds, outdoor play space and beach-accessible learning areas . Students enjoy after-school clubs and enrichment, including sports, coding, arts, nature conservation, and student council–led events. The school supports learning needs through in-house educational and inclusion staff, maintaining balanced SEND provision and offering assessments and additional support where needed .
Footsteps welcomes children aged 4–13 (Reception to Year 8) . Annual tuition for the 2025–26 academic year is CI$15,000, with termly and monthly payment options. Additional fees include a PTA contribution (CI$100), resource fee (CI$300), and snack fee (CI$300). Sibling discounts are available (5% first sibling, 10% subsequent siblings). After-school care is optional, at CI$10/hour or CI$250/month, with late‐pickup penalties .
